I'm trying to show a QFrame, but there is a QTextEdit in the way. I want to display the QFrame over the QTextEdit but nothing seems to work. I've tried moving the text edit to the back but the frame is still in the back. I've tried moving the frame to the front but that doesn't work either! Any ideas?

I add a QTextEdit and make it cover the area that I want it to cover. Then I added a menu over it, which has different settings for the text that one might write inside the QTextEdit. One of the options however needs to open a QFrame with some settings in it. The issue is that the QFrame can't be displayed over the QTextEdit, but shows up behind instead!

Solved it by creating the QFrame in a more global area, the centralWidget area, instead of my option_bar!
