Solved How to display tons of edit options to users in GUI?
-
I was initially going to use a ribbon styled UI which means that I'd have multiple tabs with multiple functionalities within each tab, each function related to the tab name. This is what google and Microsoft has but Microsoft decided to patent ribbon UI, so what are some alternatives to that? I have soooo much functionality and options for my user to edit his or her text, cells, layout, etc but nowhere to put it neatly. Any and all ideas are appreciated!

Hi,
You can take a look at applications like Krita or Inkscape which also have lots of tools.

Some more examples that also deal with a lot of document related options would be LibreOffice or Photoshop.
Basically you have tabs, toolbars, docks, menus, popups and flyouts at your disposal. -

There is QTitanRibbon, but it costs something. -
Using ribbons in my application would result in a lawsuit against me because of a Microsoft patent... QTitanRibbon is also very VERY easy to recreate visually in Qt... so there's that. Thanks anyways, it was a good idea!
