Can't run Examples..qmake & make failures as USER

The Question: Is my QtCreator installed Correctly, Read On?
Anyone else having this issue. Open to suggestoins on the install.

I have installed QtCreator from Synaptic package Manager to both Kubuntu 10.04 and Debian 6 which drags in dependancies in both cases. I also, using Slackware linux, installed Qtcreator directly from the Qt site by downloading and and installing the Bin file. Previous in Slackware I had installed QtDesigner via the Gslap package manager with dependancies.

I am not understanding why Qtcreator IDE installs as a USER owned program. Yet system access to Cmake qmake and sources are always set to root only. I can understand the linux package Installers making this error but no the Directly downloaded BIN install file from the QT site. I must example projects as root to get successful Builds. My C IDE or Python / Java IDEs have no such issues. Codelite, & qtCreator both launch with %F option.

I am a beginner using the Qtcreator. Normally I would program a Desktop app with Python using Eric IDE or Java using Netbeans IDE.
When attempting to Run/Build an example project, the qmake or make always fails due to permissions as I launch QtCreator as my user. I do launch all my IDEs as my user without issue or needing a root launched idenity. The qt3 qt4 atcreator & C and other needed directories are in the /usr/lib sub directories which are all open to my users EXCEPT I seem to have issues accessing qtCreator directories during qtcreator processing. My /usr/lib is of course set as root owner/group...All other IDEs have no issues compiling here.

Note:
I am a C programmer for years but on an Unpracticed level having learned the Language but never applied it to a larger project.If I do I use the CodeLite IDE.

When did you install QtCreator from Directly downloaded BIN you did this as root or as User?
If as root, try install QtCreator under user account.

Yes, installed as USER to the Home dir

BTW.. When using the Debian, Ubuntu or Slackware package installers the user is forced to start the package installer as Root.
However, as the package qtcreator is not available from the package installer, I downloaded and installed my Slackware's Qtcreator via the downloaded BIN file..

Also when I attempt to open an Example Project with Slackware's BIN file install I receive an Error stating that a copy to the Example cannot be written to the Directory choosen in the Home dir. Therefore the Example Project in many cases will not Open.
The directories in the Home dir are open to My USER and Group (Read/Write) and not restricted... So, what is happening?
If I was only having problems with One type of Linux then I would consider possibly the Linux. However in this case the Fault is the Install. Either the way I am installing or the way it is installing despite Me.

More and more strange...
Ok, just for test try do it:

cd ~/

mkdir testdir

chmod 777 ./testdir

Open Qt Creator

Create new project

Choose testdir as root dir for project

Uncheck "shadow building" checkbox

Try build and run app.

Also, just in case, run df -h, check space on your disk

This worked in so far as the project.............
But the RUN Compile went like so..........

Running build steps for project helloscript...
Starting: /usr/bin/qmake-qt4 /usr/lib/qt4/examples/script/helloscript/helloscript.pro -spec linux-g++ -r CONFIG+=debug
Failure to open file: /usr/lib/qt4/examples/script/helloscript/Makefile
Unable to generate makefile for: /usr/lib/qt4/examples/script/helloscript/helloscript.pro
Exited with code 5.

Ahhh, now I see your problem, you tried build Examples from Qt direct from /usr/lib/ directory
if you want do it, you should bring examples to your home and change permissions or owner for files and folder, Or you can try just open project settings set "shadow build" and set folder for it in your home folder

My confusion was that my other IDEs did not give me this problem as none have a component in /usr/lib..
