Virtualkeyboard with Chinese and external keyboard

Hi,
i am using Qt5.9.1 with virtualkeyboard and an USB keyboard.
If a set the virtualkeyboard to simple chinese and type on the letters, the dictionary shows me options for the words. I can select one of the options and it will replace my text.
If i type in to the USB keyboard, the dictionary shows me the same options, but now if i select the word it wont replace my text. The word will be appended next to my text.Is there a way that the dictionary replace the USB Keyboard input text?
