      static compilation still big

      Static libraries compilation will always be bigger than dynamic, so your phrased question seems a bit odd?

          @RIVOPICO
          Well it can only be bigger with static than dynamic, so just what size are you expecting? These days 5MB is not big....

            Hi
            If you already uses exe compression and static linking, its unlikely you can get it smaller.
            Why is the size so important ? 5 MB is fine even on phones.

                hi. it really depends on what you actually used in Qt.
                So maybe those small project, only used Qt core and nothing more.

                  @RIVOPICO if you really need it smaller then search fot 'Qt Lite' and expect to invest some time ...

                  Qt has to stay free or it will die.

                    Hi
                    http://blog.qt.io/blog/2016/08/18/introducing-the-qt-lite-project-qt-for-any-platform-any-thing-any-size/
                    But not sure its worth the time needed versus the size reduction :)
