    I'm running Linux Mint 18.2 sonya and I've installed qtquickcontrols2-5-dev but when I try to make a new Qt Quick Controls 2 Application in Qt Creator I get "No valid kits found"

      Have you installed g++?

      Are you able to create a different kind of application (such as a Qt Console Application or Qt Widgets Application)?

          I just realized that the Qt version was set to 4.x instead of 5.x. That fixed my problem. Sorry for wasting your time
