Unsolved iOS Audio Playback and Recording Realtime

Hi there,
I want to build an iOS app that will play an audio file, and i want to record some part of that audio (just the audio, not from microphone) while its playing and in the end save it as audio file.
For example, if its a 1 minute song, i could press a button that record on 15 second and then press it to stop on 30 second and then press to start on 50 second and stop on 5 seond, which means i get an audio file of 15+5 = 20 seconds.
Is this something right to do with QT?

Hi,
Wouldn't it be more simple to store the "cuts" of the audio file and then process that to extract the audio data you want ?
