Solved Issues with new IOS image type (.HEIC) in ios app
-
We have an app that get pictures from iphones. But when trying to get pictures taken from the new iphones (.HEIC images) it says "Unable to read image data".
I`ve found that BUG: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-63638
At the end Eirik says that we should just install two patches. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, but I have checked them out with GIT and replaced the files in the QT Creator 5.10 Src folder (inside of the qtimageformats folder). Am I doing it right?
After that what should I do with the project? I am only cleaning it, deleting the folder and then rebuilding it.
Please help!

Hi,
Can you list exactly the steps you used to build the plugin ?
-
I am just downloading the files with GIT and replacing in the QT Creator/5.10/Src/qtimageformats folder
-
@renatobibiano After replacing the files you should build and install qtimageformats else the patches will not have any effect on your Qt installation.

@jsulm thanks for the reply. How do I install the qtimageformats?
-
cd ~ mkdir build cd build PATH_TO_YOUR_QT_INSTALLATION/bin/qmake PATH_TO_YOUR_QT_SOURCES/qtimageformats/qtimageformats.pro make make install
