Unsolved A Kits problem when immigrating to qt 5.10
-
Hi,
I was using Qt 5.9 well without problems until I was suggested to install updates. I went for that but faced errors so I decided to uninstall Qt 5.9 and download and install qt-opensource-windows-x86-5.10.0.exe.
It's installed now.It's its tools:
Now I have kits for both Androids but not for my Windows Desktop!
How to add that kit too, please?

Start maintenance
Select Add or remove components

Hi
where did u get the tempo name from??
is that valid?
seems wrong.That error i seen before. Tons of info on the net about
"at least one valid and enable repository required for this action to succeed"https://stackoverflow.com/questions/22775906/how-to-update-component-in-qt-5-2-1
(note any path given are for older qt so you must find new ones)Alternatively, just get the version from offline and run it over
https://download.qt.io/official_releases/qt/5.10/5.10.0/
Choose correct version mingew OR visual studio depending what you use. -

@tomy
Sorry i dont know how to fix.
I had it once but just removed all and used offline installer.
Then it worked again.Maybe others can say what repo tro use.
-
@tomy Did you use offline installer? Download the online installer and install.
If you used offline installer can you post its exact file name? -
I used offline for that 5.10 and it's its title: qt-opensource-windows-x86-5.10.0 2.33 GB
I had it done by uninstalling and reinstalling that file again and now I have Desktop. but the problem is for when I may want to "add or remove" some other components!
What repo do you guys use for 5.10 please? I might use it for my one too. -
@tomy said in A Kits problem when immigrating to qt 5.10:

That's why you should use the online installer: your Qt Maintenance Tool will be configured properly. Why do you use offline installer?

@jsulm
Because in my region the Internet connection cuts off many times so online installer most of the time is not the right way. By the way, when I have the offline installer (file) I can use it when I need to uninstall the program.Now do you mean that reinstalling the program this time using the online installer is the only remedy?

@tomy You can try this tool to change the Qt repository: https://github.com/JKSH/QtSdkRepoChooser
-
@jsulm
On that website in Alternative Instructions, I tried to reach the link there:
http://download.qt.io/online/qtsdkrepository/{platform}/root/qt/But I got:
:( :-(
-
@tomy Please read more carefully. You need to replace {platform} with one of the strings from the list as described there:
{platform} is one of: "linux_x64" "linux_x86" "mac_x64" "windows_x86"
But actually you should do it only if you can't use the tool. Why don't you simply use the tool?
