QML vs QWidgets (& Forms) for mobile development
For a mobile app with a really simple 2D game, would there be any advantage to using QWidgets (& Forms) over QML? Moving sprites around without QML seems tedious.
Hi and welcome to devnet,
You have to provide more information about the game you want to develop in order to get a more accurate answer.
Note that QML is currently the recommended way to develop for mobile.

Hi! Writing such game UIs is super easy in QML, don't waste your time on widgets in this case. There's also a video from KDAB somewhere on youtube where they show how to make such a side scrolling game. You might also check out v-play, they have a 2D QML game engine.

the biggest disadvantage (especially for mobile games) is that QtWidgets is always painted by the CPU ("rasterized").
Where QML can be expected to be hardware accelerated.
Thanks for the answers guys, QML is the way to go then
