QT Quick on X11

Hello,
I'm starting to develop an application using Qt. I'd like to use Quick Controls 2 because it gives better visual experience. The problem I face is that I'd like to use X11 instead of going to a full screen embedded device. Is there a way to do this? I've looked for information on how to activate OpenGL on X11 on the Raspberry but I have not found how.
Some documents I've read seems as if it were possible and some others not.
It's important since I would like to be able to use the app remotely using VNC or other remote control software.
