QT Designer opens brand new instance for each .ui suddenly

I recently upgraded from 5.7 to 5.9.2 and now whenever I open a .ui file it opens a brand new designer instance each time, as opposed to before when it would open all of the .ui files in the same designer instance, anyway I can fix this? It did not do this before I upgraded and it's quite annoying when working on a project with multiple UI files

How do you open them?
For me.
Clicking on UI file in Creator opens designer plugin.
Right clicking the ui file in project tree and choose show in Designer, will open in same designer.
