I had the same problem when I use MinGW compiler. You can switch MS compiler, then the WebEngine will work.

How to switch to the MS compiler?

Hi and welcome to devnet,
@aphi Install Visual Studio 2017 with the C++ component and install the Qt for Visual Studio 2017 package.
@ako1583 It's not a Qt problem. QtWebEngine is not available for MinGW because the chromium project which it's build on doesn't support that compiler. The minimal requirement is Visual Studio 2015 like explained in the platform notes of the module.
