Why build Qt Installer Framework?

Hi I have a quick question - why is it recommended to build the Qt Installer Framework yourself instead of just downloading the binary? See here.

Is the downloadable binary static linked to Qt?
Only reason i could think of for wanting to build it from source vs click and run.

Small note, the version number was updated in 2015.
My guess is that doing so you would have all the latest bug fixes compared to the current released version. You also have the nightly snapshot if you'd like to run the latest and greatest version without building it.

Looks like the downloadable prebuilt binary is 2.0.5 while the source from the git page is 3.0.1 so sgaist is right.
