Unsolved Visual Studio 2015 with Qt Visual Studio Tools plugin but QML syntax highlight not working
-
Hi all
I'm working with Visual Studio 2015 Update 3 community edition with installed the latest version of Visual Studio Tools plugin 2.1.1 in a Windows 10 x64 environment. I have a problem that QML code syntax highlight does't work. I tried in three different computers all with the same OS and Visual Studio version but same problem in all. I have to specify that I previously installed Visual Studio 2013, uninstalled with the Microsoft tool for total uninstallation, maybe some old settings create a conflict. Currently, after a lot of tries, I was not able to have syntax highlight working, someone experimented same problem and found a solution?
Thank you -
Still not found a solution. Really I'm the only developer facing this problem? All other developer here have QML syntax highlight working with Visual Studio 2015?

Hi
Unfortunately problem is similar but solution is not. This topic refer to the old version of Qt plugin and was true thet syntax highlight was a commercial feature. Now new version of plugin 2.0 is totally Visual Studio compatible and for syntax highlight just provide the QML language file used by TextMate plugin engine. Unfortunately it seem there is some problem and this doesn' work. I was able to get it working in the past after a lot of test and different tries but quickly stop to work again. I tested in three different computers with Windows 10 and Visual Studio 2015 and in all doesn't work...

Hi
Ok that sounds like its really not working.
Just to be sure. Can you provide the link where you download the said plugin ?
Syntax highlighting is such a must have feature that one should think other would have posted about it not working but
if it doesn't work across multiple Pc, you might consider open a ticket on

Hi
I downloaded the plugin through Visual Studio repository (Visual Studio menu -> Tools -> Extension and updates). This is the official QT pluging working correctly. It copied the languange file into the <users folder>.vs.\Extensions\qttmlanguage\qml folder (file name is qml.qmlproject.tmLanguage). This is the file in TextMate format but for some reasons doesn't work.
