The Qt Application power consumption

I have a qt application . We run the application on our device. The application is still running and not in suspend mode when the device screen has been turned off and the application data has not changed. What can I do to keep the application in suspend mode? We want to reduce the power consumption of the equipment .

If you'd like to have any constructive answer you should start by giving more information about your application, the OS it runs on, the device it runs on etc.
