Textfield keyboard hides footer/ToolBar

I am currently developing an application for Android and IOS. For my app I a using a ToolBar as a footer in my ApplicationWindow. I have a "Submit" button attached to the toolbar; however, whenever I start to add input to a Textfield the keyboard will hide my footer. What I find odd is that if I use a TextArea instead, the footer will move up with the keyboard allowing the user to easily hit the "Submit" button. Is there an easy solution to make the the footer behave in the same way with a Textfield as it does with a TextArea?
