How to change desktop available geometry in Qt 5.7

Hi everybody!
My app is a sort of sidebar attached to the right side of a Windows desktop/ Is it possible to change desktop available geometry, so that all windows when maximized have width = desktop.width-myApp.width?

AFAIK, no. That's something the OS provides.
Developing a Gadget for Windows Sidebar might be of interest in your case.
