I am very new to qt5 and qt5ct
I am using the kubuntu operating system and recently used a PPA to install vlc.
The colour scheme of the player was unsatisfactory so I installed qt5ct to control the colours. I find that I can only control the colours of the player using the style, and cannot get a palatte to work. I created a name, but editing is a problem

      Hi and welcome to devnet,

It's not very clear. What exactly are you trying to modify ? And how ?

I did my best with the limited space.

I am trying to change the colours of vlc using qt5ct. Whatever colours I choose give different colours in the editor, and makes no difference to the vlc colour scheme.

On a related point is it normal in kubuntu (14.04) with kde to have both qt4 and qt5 installed, as is the case with my system.

That's still not very clear. Can you show a picture of what you have and what you would like to get ?

Yes it's normal, there are still a lot of application that haven't been ported yet to Qt 5..
