Would like to know if any such feature is available. It would be great to get an option to have notifications sent to group owners if any posts have been made in the respective forum. Or say if some update has happened like a new member has joined.

AFAIk this feature does not exist, but I also think it's useful.

Update on new forum posts is probably spammy for some groups. How about an e-mail alert for when someone posts an update or a new member joins?

That would be very cool! :-)

PS: also when someone requests to join for groups that this applies.

I think you get a notification when someone request to join a group.

That's very true it could be spammy. Another approach would be to send a daily email digest containing all the updates, new member joining requests and other activities in the group.

Well, in my case I never received such a notification! :-( I check manually.

The group RSS feed has the joined info, updates and forum posts in the group forum made by group members, example: http://developer.qt.nokia.com/groups/rss/devnet_meta
