Hi! Wireshark uses Qt, maybe have a look at the source code to see how they do it.

Thank u for the reply.......but i have another doubt and since am new to Qt, i don't know whether am wrong .from the source code of wireshank, Is Qt used only for UI design of the wireshark application or else for whole programming ie for packet processing,data parsing etc....

AFAIK, they use Qt for the UI part, the lower levels don't. The project has switched from GTK recently.
