Are you using Qt creator or are you trying to build in Visual C?
With Qt creator you need to check under "Tool"->"Options..."->"Build&Run". There you will find different tabs "Kits", "Qt Versions", "Compilers" ...
Check there where the actual problem is also mentioned.
