I have installed Qt 5.7 (desktop gcc 64-bit) on my Ubuntu 12.04, using the online installer. Trying to run Qt Creator didn't appear to do anything.

When trying to run it from terminal I got an error about a missing "xcb" platform, which led me to this Qt Creator Bug:
    https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTCREATORBUG-15905

The problem is that the bug's workaround (installing libegl1-mesa) didn't work for me, and I get a "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" error when trying to run it.

Though I didn't manage to I ended up upgrading Ubuntu all the way up to 14.04 and finally to 16.04 and both of these versions run Qt Creator alright.
