QtBluetooth read Bluetooth Low Energy advertising data

Hello, I currently have some software I've built in Qt 5.6 using QtBluetooth (via QLowEnergyController) to read and write BLE characteristics. What I'd like to do is be able to read and write advertising data as well. I noticed with Qt 5.7 came the ability to transmit advertising data, but I still don't see a clear way to read the advertising data. I see all kinds of devices coming to market with this capability so this need is definitely a big one. Has anyone done this yet?
