Full Screen Mode Not Appearing on OS X

I built and ran the OpenGL Window Example Qt5 code, but on OS X this application only displays a maximize button (green plus character), not a fullscreen button (green arrows). Usually one can hold the option button to toggle between fullscreen and maximize, but even this does not work.
Do I have to do something special to enable fullscreen support? Thank you!
