How is QtCreator supposed to add an existing project to Subversion?

Is there no such function in QtCreator? Is this something that has to be done from command line?

There's no such feature in either Qt Creator or Qt Designer. You need to add your project to the repository externally and then the plugin will enable SVN integration.
