In C++ I have a list of users which I pass to QML. qmlRegisterType<User>("com.user", 1, 0, "User"); QList<QObject *> userList; User *user; user = new User(); userList << user; user = new User(); userList << user; ctx->setContextProperty("userListModel", QVariant::fromValue(userList)); In QML, I display userListModel in a ListView. Every user in ListView is editable by a form (custom qml component), which exposes property User user The user property represents current user the form is editing now. The problem is, I can't pass current user from ListView to user property of the form. I get Error: Cannot assign QObject* to User* when this code executes (i.e. when assigning form's user property with current user of ListView): userEditForm.user = model I can of course declare: property QtObject user And then it works. However, I'm not sure whether it is good practice to do it this way. Is there any example how to pass list of records (in my case users) from c++ to QML, display them in ListView, edit a record in form a then pass edited record back to C++ (e.g. to save it to database)?
