Solved QT Offline Install option?
-
Is there an offline install option, I go through a proxy and when I try to install it fails to connect and times out.
I am installing "qt-opensource-windows-x86-msvc2013_64-5.5.1.exe"
from here
http://download.qt.io/official_releases/qt/5.5/5.5.1/(It is 842mb , it shouldn't need to get anything else to do an initial install)

Hi @runfastman,
(It is 842mb , it shouldn't need to get anything else to do an initial install)
Yes, that sounds like an offline installer - they're typically 600MB ~ 1GB, whereas the online installers are 10 ~ 30MB.
So is the offline installer not working for you? (And have you verified the installer's MD5 or SHA sums?)
Cheers.

Thanks for the fast response.
It sits trying to login on the "Qt Account - Your unified login to everything Qt" Step.
After a while it gives "Connection to server failed. Trying again..."
Finally it gives "Connection timed out".I am sure it is because I am behind a proxy, I have this problem with other software, but I can usually set the proxy address so that it can still connect.
I don't see why the installer needs to connect to the server.

I believe the installer has a number of command line options, including one for setting the proxy. Try running the installer with the
--help
option to see what options are available. -
That worked thanks.
you use "--proxy <proxyaddress>"

Great!
It would probably make sense for an "offline" installer to also support options for skipping the license check (at least for open-source licensed users) too.
Don't forget to mark the topic as "Solved" :)
Cheers.
