"Visual Studio 2012 and later do not support building for Windows XP out of the box. However, support for targeting XP was added in an update of Visual Studio 2012. This works also with Visual Studio 2013." -
Do you have to develop ON Windows XP or FOR Windows XP?
-
@jsulm Yes, for example, debugging on Windows XP. The VS 2015 remote debug can not works when we using XP.

Qt 5.6.0 no longer runs any tests for VS2010. (https://wiki.qt.io/Qt_5.6_Tools_and_Versions)
If you want to stick with VS2010, then I recommend that you also stick with Qt 5.5.1.
