Unsolved Installed qt-creator 3.0.1 / qt 5.5.1 on Centos 6, qmlviewer and qmlscene did not install
-
Getting started with Qt in general and QtQuick in particular. Installed qt-creator version 3.0.1 based on Qt version 5.5.1 on Centos 6, compiled and ran some Qt demo and tutorial programs and it mostly seems to work.
However, I can't get QtQuick to work. I set up a QtQuick project and type in some simple code from one of the tutorials:
import QtQuick 2.0
import QtQuick.Controls 1.4ApplicationWindow {
width: 300
height: 200
title: "Simple"
Text {
text: "Qt Quick"
anchors.horizontalCenter: parent.horizontalCenter
anchors.verticalCenter: parent.verticalCenter
font.pointSize: 24; font.bold: true
}
}Try to run it and there is no way to run... the green triangles on the lower left are greyed out, Build->Run is greyed out, CTRL+R does nothing, Tools->External->Qt Quick->Qt Quick 1 Preview (qmlviewer) and ...->Qt Quick 2 Preview (qmlscene) do nothing. Tried to run it from the command line with qmlviewer and qmlscene and discovered that neither are installed.
Spent most of the afternoon reading and Googling and running searches on this forum and can't find a way to install either qmlviewer or qmlscene.
Shouldn't they (at least one of them) have installed by default when I installed Qt Creator?
Platform is CentOS 6 running KDE 4.
Thanks...
Eric
