I have a simple cpp program to glow an external led on Beaglebone Black, now I need to do the same through a pushbutton on gui, can i do it by making a function containing my program and calling it through signal and slot, or if anyone have any other way to do it then please help. Thanks in advance.

Sure. Depending on your program you could turn it into a Qt class and have one of its functions work as a slot that is signalled by the pushbutton, or you could have the slot in your UI code and call from that your app which is basically just renamed: main(arcg, argv) -> led_function(arcg, argv)
