Unsolved Problem installing Qt 5.5 and Qt Creator 3.5.1 on XUbuntu 14.04
-
Hi All
i'm a newbie on this forum and i'm sorry if i'm doing something wrong on it.
I'm installing Qt 5.5 and Qt Creator 3.5.1 using the online installer that the download page suggests for my machine. All seems to be ok during installation but when i try to open Qt Creator, the windows doesn't reply to any commands ( mouse click or others). I can do anything! After a while the operating system shows me the message that the application could be busied by another task! What can i do?
thanks for helping me
Have an happy new year

Hi and welcome
You can try starting it with no welcome screen
qtcreator -noload Welcome
(in shell)
It sounds like it hangs for some reason. Also (for later) when it can start.
You might need install something extra

for actually compiling. -
Thank you for answering so quickly! You are right. The problem was in the welcome page. Disabling it by command line has made Qt Creator working well. I have also disabled the Welcome page into Help-> About Plugins and now i can launch the software correctly.
Thank you very much!

@cristiano.narcisi
Super!
That is often due to opengl not being installed or not up and running.
Just have this in mind if you try the opengl samples :)
