Solved What is the blue box in QCreator?
-
Every so often, I will make come up a blue box that will highlight a portion of my code. What is the blue box called and how can I make it appear and disappear?
-
Can you post a screen shot?
-
Do you mean QRubberBand?
-
@Chris-Kawa It's not a QRubberBand......it's light blue.....QRubberBand highlights with dark blue and it goes away when when you click off of it. This box is persistent.
-
Colors are OS and style dependent. Light blue or dark blue tells us nothing. You'll have to post a screenshot like @jsulm suggested.
-
if I should guess totally random , then i bet on activating
FakeVim and the blue box is its persistent selection. -
I finally found out what it is. It is search scope.....it is activated by highlighting code and then clicking Ctrl+F. It will create a light blue box around the code. How do you make it go away?
-
@w.h. Ctrl+F again?
-
@w.h. If you want to get out of find mode then hit Esc if the cursor is in the code editor or two times Esc if it's in the find input box. Generally hitting Esc enough times will bring you out of most of "special modes" in Qt Creator ;)

@Chris-Kawa
Thanks, ESC works.
