Should the "About Qt" dialog be translated?
-
My application is using Qt v5.4 and I have implemented support for Internationalization. This is actually working well except I have noticed that the text in the "About Qt" dialog remains in English, even when I load Danish translation files.
I am loading and installing the qt_da.qm file from Qt's installation directory and application_da.qm from my volunteer translator.
So my question is; should the "About Qt" dialog be translated or is it supposed to remain in English?
Thanks,

Hi,
Yes it should be translated, at least the text is in the translation files

Okay, that is not quite what I am seeing. For Danish I have used this file from my installation for the Qt translations:
C:\Qt5.4\5.4\msvc2010_opengl\translations\qt_da.qmAnd this is the 'About Qt' box I get:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1139742/for_forum/about_da.png
Note that none of the dialog text has been translated. To be sure the issue was not just down to the Danish translation I tried using this French translation file:
C:\Qt5.4\5.4\msvc2010_opengl\translations\qt_fr.qmAnd this is the 'About Qt' box I get:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1139742/for_forum/about_fr.png
I have highlighted the text that is translated, which is just the first 2 lines of the dialog. The rest of the dialog text remains in Engligh. This shows to me that my C++ code is correctly loading the qt_??.qm files but the results are not as I would expect. So am I using the correct translation files?
Thanks,
Chris -
Seems the translation files might be a bit outdated for this dialog
