[Solved] Which Qt 5.4 installer to use on win-64?
-
I would like to start using QOpenGLWidget introduced in 5.4 (http://blog.qt.io/blog/2014/09/10/qt-weekly-19-qopenglwidget/) but am confused re which 5.4 installer to use.
Download page lists two installers for win-64
- Qt 5.4.0 for Windows 64-bit (VS 2013, 720 MB) and
- Qt 5.4.0 for Windows 64-bit (VS 2013, OpenGL, 709 MB)
With 5.3 there were some recommendations regarding selecting the installer depending on desired implementation of legacy QGLWidget ( native vs. ANGLE). ANGLE version also required me to build additional libraries. Presumably new QOpenGLWidget lifts this requirement but I am not sure. Latest 5.4 download page gives no clue. Can someone clarify?

Hi,
IIRC the installer without OpenGL mentioned should give you a dynamic OpenGL backend selection so it should switch between ANGLE and OpenGL depending on what you computer supports. See "here":http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/windows-requirements.html#graphics-drivers
Hope it helps
