QtDeclarative on platforms without GLES (Quick2)
-
Some of you might have noticed my fork of qtdeclarative on gitorious. I have not pushed anything yet, but you can read about the project here:

Comments are most welcome.

How does this compare to Qt's own Qt Quick 2D renderer?

I don't know really. We started this project quite some time before quick 2d thing was announced.
I haven't seen the source code for this official project. The webpage states that it is for enterprise and professional customers.
We want to share our work with everyone and will encourage people to fork and extend it.
Regarding the limitations that follows the lack of GLES we are at the same level as the official project.

I am always online on freenode (#qt-labs) if anyone wants to talk about this.

Nice work; thank you especially for opening your work up to the community!
A comment about the name: "Qt Declarative" is the old name, associated with Qt Quick 1. The new module is called "Qt Quick". See http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qtquick-porting-qt5.html
The git repository, qtdeclarative.git, contains many modules:
