Qt5.4 carsh
-
I installed 5.4 recently and it never starts. It crashes with the message:
Qtcreator.exe has stopped working.
I am using it on Windows 7 home Basic Service Pack 1 with 2GB memory.
I have no problems with version 5.2.
Thanks for any help.

welcome to devnet
One correction to your post. It is Qt creator crashing. It has a different version number than the Qt lib package.
Is the install on 32 or 64 bit?
You memory size seems rather small IMO.Did you do a restart of the system already?

I had problems with Qt when i was using a 32Bit System. Maybe your RAM is the problem but when 5.2 is running on your system its implausible ... Do you have the option to Debug that problem?

Hi Robert,
Mine is 32bit. Yes it QT creator crashing. I did a restart of the system.
Hi Kopfii,
Windows prompts me asking whether I want to debug the problem. When I say yes, nothing happens.
I think I will stick to 5.2 till I finish my current work.
Thanks

I'm also having this problem with 5.4 Qt Creator. My machine is 32-bit Windows 7. I'm going to downgrade to 5.2 and see if that works, but it would be great to know what's going on.

Hi and welcome to devnet,
You can also try starting Qt Creator with the welcome plugin disabled.
Hope it helps
-
Starting Qt Creator without loading specific plugins you need to pass the parameter
-noload
e.g.
qtcreator.exe -noload Welcome
A list for disabling the plugins permanently can be reached via the menu Help - Plugins. -
@simow Thanks, that worked.
