WebKit based browser with native video player for live stream playback

Hello everybody!
I am new to Qt development and this is the reason why I would like to ask here for an advice, whether it is possible to realize my idea that I have.
I would like to develop a web browser that is capable to play videos and IPTV live stream on a raspberry PI or similar hardware without using flash or html5 technologies So, it should be kind of web browser with native video player. At the same time this web browser should allow to use modern web technologies for the development of the GUI (for the video player) to interact with the user. The interaction between user and the web browser (and video player) should be possible with a remote control (eg. from a TV)
Could please anyone give me some advice on how I can approach this project, if this idea is feasible?
Does someone know similar web browser / projects that can I use to implement my idea? Or will I have start to develop everything from the beginning?
