Starting remote a console program
qter314 last edited by
I want to run on a other pc over network a console program if I click in build Qt GUI on a button.
It should be simple because I'm a beginner. I think to do it with XML-RPC. But I was not able to do it until now. Maybe any other way to do it? Some examples?
May be you should try TCP Server-Client way. Keep Client the one which will start console program on that machine. There are these "Qt Network examples":http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/examples-network.html but the simplest of them would be "Fortune Server Example":http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qtnetwork-fortuneserver-example.html. You can modify the Fortune Client code to run the console program.

You can use ssh to run remote console program.
Not sure if it will work on Windows. But on Linux or OSX it will work.
