When I am in the QtCreator Editor, my keyboard sometimes shifts into 'overwrite' mode (as opposed to 'insert') mode, and I have not found what if any keyboard key can get me out of 'overwrite' mode.

For example, if I am trying to change the following line and if I am stuck in 'overwrite' mode, what keyboard key or menu action will insert the letter 'a'?

Mry had a little lamb whose fleece was white as snow.

(Hint: on my keyboard, the ten keypad key 'INSERT' which in most Windows programs of this type toggles between 'insert' and 'overwrite' modes doesn't do it!)
