Is QtWRT's underlying webkit engine location-aware?

  • When I go to http://maps.google.co.uk in standard N900's browser, I get my exact location shown on the map using device's internal GPS. However, when I wrap-up a qtwrt widget with something as simple as @<iframe src="http://maps.google.co.uk/"></iframe>@ and I execute it in device, I get this map loaded, yet it cannot determine my location.

Is this a limitation of underlying webkit engine, a bug, or perhaps I should add qtwrt's location API calls in order to expose GPS device somehow? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

  • Its a missing feature in qtwebkit, though it is under implementation. As of now you could use qtwrt's location API's

Thanks for getting back on this. How do I use location API to expose GPS location to maps.google.co.uk website loaded in qtwrt widget then? Is this possible at all?

  • No, you can not expose to live websites like maps.google.com, That will have to be fixed only from qtwebkit.
