QtLocation officially supported

  • Hi,

What is the current status of the QtLocation module? Currently we are developing a desktop application on Qt 4.8 which uses maps based on QtMobility. We would like to upgrade our application to Qt 5.x, but we are waiting for the QtLocation module to be released.

    Kind regards,
    Marijke Van Bergen

This question is better suited for interest or even development mailing list - much more Qt developers monitor those 2 channels.

  • Hey Marijke-

I believe that QtLocation is now supported since 5.4.0. You can see the doc is now on the 5.4 page.

If you're looking to do any more advanced analysis and/or offline/disconnected work, you might also want to look into the Qt SDK provided by Esri. There are C++ and QML APIs that integrate with Qt Widgets and Qt Quick.

    Thanks,
    Luke

Not yet. It will be a Technology Preview in Qt 5.5, and a fully-supported module in Qt 5.6.
