    Hi,

I am trying to find out whether Qt Quick provides a solution for sending a notification to the user (whether the app is running or not).

By comparison, on Android, you can create a service that fires on a time-out and sends a notification to the OS notification bar.

Is it possible to do something similar with Qt Quick? I don't need to use the notification bar - it could just be a dialog popup but it would have to run in a background process and have the ability to launch the app when fired. I haven't been able to find any examples of this.

Just out of curiosity I have taken a quick look at the "Push Notification API". I know it's all about server push but I thought the client-side part of the technology might provide support for "local notifications" as well but I don't think it does from my brief look into it.

    Regards,
    Paul Drummond
