Texture Cache size setting

Is there a way to set the texture cache size for a qml based application.

There is an api exposed by QGLContext::setTextureCacheLimit ( int size ) [size in kilobytes].
By default, the description says it is 64 MB.

Is there something similar that can be done for qml based application to limit and set this texture cache size.

Any help would be appreciated.
