Qt/X11 fonts issues

Hi everyone,
I'm running a buildroot-based GNU/Linux operating system on an ARM evaluation board using X11 (xorg 1.14.x) and Qt 5.2.1.
Despite having installed a myriad of fonts (fc-list shows all of them), if I run the fontsampler example from Qt, I see small list of fonts (Bitstream, Courier, Cursor, DejaVu, Luxi, Utopia). The strange thing is that, the small list of fonts I see doesn't change even if I install just the minimal fonts included with X11.
I built Qt with fontconfig support, I thought it was the only thing needed to access the myriad of fonts I have installed, but maybe, I'm missing something else.Filippo
