Creating a separate window next to a main window?

  • I'm not sure how to explain this exactly, but I have a main window with a bunch of sliders and such. I want make it so that there is another window next to it, but separate, that displays the information received from sliders in real time. I don't know how exactly I create the other window and kinda link it to the main window. So what should I use to do that?

Create a custom QDialog based widget with slots corresponding to each slider. To show the value you can use e.g. QLabels or a QTableWidget.

Then call show on it and you should be good to go

You should also take a look at Qt's examples and demos, they contains lots of interesting code to learn from

    Hope it helps
