I was just perusing http://qt-project.org/wiki/New-Features-in-Qt-5.3 and noticed that it makes no mention of QWebEngine, Chromium, CEF, or anything, even as preview support. Does anybody know the status of how that's moving along?

      Hi there,
You can find the documentation for QtWebEngine here: http://qt-project.org/wiki/QtWebEngine

You have to manually build it right now according to the docs.

Right, but that version just has some commands to run and it might maybe work in Linux and it isn't fully integrated into Qt. My question is more along the lines of when to expect it in Qt proper with support, etc. That it's not mentioned in 5.3 makes me worry that the Preview version may have been punted to 5.4 and therefore that a real version may be as far our as 5.5, but I can't find info one way or the other anywhere.

          Hi,

A better place to ask is the "interest mailing list":http://lists.qt-project.org/mailman/listinfo/interest you'll Qt's developers/maintainers there (this forum is more user oriented)

I've heard that said before, but I'm on those list and no questions I've asked there have been meaningfully answered, so I kinda gave up. But I'll try there again and see if this time's different. I'm just surprised that there's so little public communication on such a big, and I assume much anticipated, feature.

              Hi,

The New Features wiki might still be incomplete.

In my experience, we'd only get an answer if someone who knows the answer sees our email. Instead of Interest, I'd recommend the dedicated "Qt WebEngine mailing list":http://lists.qt-project.org/mailman/listinfo/qtwebengine -- that's where all the Qt WebEngine developers are.
