Open Source and Commercial source bases for Qt
-
I understand that there are some source code / package differences between the Open Source and the Commercial Qt licenses. Is there a comprehensive list of the differences? Any limits on how different the two source bases can become in the future?

Hi, and welcome to the Qt Dev Net!
The Open Source and Commercial variants of Qt have the same code base. The Commercial packages simply includes extra modules that aren't part of the Open Source packages (e.g. Charts)

I am trying to decide which GUI system is the right one for me to work with. From a search of this forum, I found that the commercial version of Qt
"... includes additional modules like Qt Commercial Charts, Controls and a small but convenient expansion to Qt Creator"
Is that exactly the difference, or, what, precisely, is the difference between the Open Source and Commercial versions of Qt (other than licensing, which is well-explained on the Qt web site).
Does the Qt Project have any guidelines or policies that control how different the Open Source and Commercial versionis of Qt can be?

The Commercial edition will only add features, it won't change open-source features.
