Where does the LOG appear???

Hi,
I am a newbie in Qt. I need to modify the Video Engine. But for debugging, I am unable to print messages using printf or Qdebug. I've seen, the source code has debug messgaes using LOG. But not sure where these messages appear. They dont come on the console. May I know if they're written to some log files. Can anyone help me out?
Also, appreciate any help in finding a solution with, aiding with the control flow of load function. How does the load get called in HTMLVideoElement.cpp???
Please help with any/both of these issues...
