Debugging helper missing
-
I have installed Ubuntu 13.10 and since that when I start debugging in Qt creator I get message "The debugging helper library was not found at <paths>". I have checked specified paths and no one doesn't even exist. In Options->Qt Versions I have some "!" nearby version with name "Qt 5.0.1 in PATH (System)" (that's only version I have). I don't know what it's mean. As a debugger I'm using GDB and it HAS python support and debugger specified in kits points to right file. How can I solve this issue?

I have install latest version of qt/qt creator. Now I don't get this message but debugger show absolutely nothing and "Insert new expression evaluator" also don't affect it.

Hi and welcome to devnet,
If you go to the Qt Version panel, you can see a detail button, click on it and you should have a list of things you can build, the last one being the debugging helper, just press build and you should be good to go

I can't build. Those buttons are unavailable - no needed it says. I already found solution for me "here":http://hostilefork.com/2013/10/20/qtcreator-debugger-no-locals-ubuntu/
The problem was that Qt Creator can't use gdb based on python3 so anyone who has same problem could try to build gdb under python2 as explained at link upper. -
Great you found out and thanks for sharing !
